Issue:
Windows® 9x variant users are unable to effectively remain connected with SSL enabled using VTtrader 1.8 builds. Solution: 1) Download the .zip file included in the topic and extract the contents your PC 2) Ensure VTrader and all other programs are closed down when following the rest of the procedure... 3) Install DSCLIENT.exe (double click the exe icon for this file); this is a Directory Services Client for Windows 98 from Mircosoft 4) Reboot the PC 5) Make required changes to PC's registry. Please Note: You should backup your registry before doing this. For those of you new to editing the registry you can run regedit to backup and/or modify the registry. You can update the registry one of two ways... 5a) Double-click the VTWin9xSupport.exe; this will make the necessary change to the registry for you. 5b) Manually add ", schannel.dll" to the end of the string found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders 6) Reboot the PC 7) Run the ie6setup.exe file; This is the setup installer for Internet Explorer 6 w/ SP1. Follow the prompts to install Internet Explorer 6.x w/ Service Pack 1. This is only required if you do not already have Internet Explorer w/ SP1 installed on your PC. 8) Reboot the PC 9) Login to VTtrader and test. Regards, Chris Attached File(s)
