Full Version: Charting Bug After Vt2 Disconnect/reconnect

Scott
Hello Chris,

In a follow up after my comments on the Beta tests, I performed the same disconnect/reconnect of VT2 on my current live version. The chart corruption is only visible on my 1 minute charts as the disconnect test is only 3-5 minutes long. I assume the same corruption would show up on longer chart intervals if disconnection timeout were to exceed the charts interval setting.

Chris notice the time line at bottom of screenshot 3. All of these screenshots were taken around 3:45pm 08-10-2011.
Look at the time/date stamp on third screenshot, I'm running history at 1500 bars. I cannot reconcile corrupt data bars to what actually happened in the market for the last 1500 minutes, so the incoming price data is being corrupted during the chart updating process that takes place after a disconnect/reconnect event. The bars were loading at a rate of 1 bar a second after reconnection. Restarting VT did not correct the problem, the strange loading of chart data continued like this at the rate of one new bar per second. I finally shut down VT a second time and waited 15 minutes before relaunching. This time all corrupted charts were back to normal. I was not using any TS's on this particular instance of VT. The chart corruption is still occurring with current VT version on live servers, this is not a demo account.
My guess is that you and your QA people should easily be able to reproduce this. Make sure you are running 1 minute charts when you do. If not let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.

Thanks,

Scott

For this issue no. However I was about to start a new thread for another slightly similar issue.
