Hello
I thought I would share a few of the indicators I have programmed I will start with my version of the B-line. On the picture I have identified the first lined as a valid umbrella trade and two other lines as slingshots. If you would like all the rules to trade this indicator do a quick search on your favorite search engine for Buffy's B-line. The changes that I have made is the fast line is only one line with changes colors instead of tow that cross. And on the bottom there is a MacD histogram instead of having to put MacD separately. You also notice the colors that change on the MacD do knock correlate with its up movement or down movement. It is the MacD histogram except the colors are the above average volume. If the histogram is gray the volume is below average. It is just another visual cue that I like. The centerline also changes colors to notify you that the B-line has reached its extremes. And the B-line itself varies in color so that you have no doubt of its movement up or down.

Thank you for your indicator post. I encountered a slight problem. When I tried to use the indicator I get a message stating: undeclared identifier

Hello apelford Harry
I had made a few changes to the indicator to make sure that it functioned properly before posting it. For some reason my VT did not save those changes. I've had this happen a couple of times bugs and problems perhaps or maybe it's just my computer. Anyhow I am reposting it and I double check to make sure the formula had been saved properly I apologize for the inconvenience.

Works perfect, thank you.

Hi Claude,
B-line does not show correctly on pairs with JPY (i.e. usd/jpy, eur/jpy etc).
Claude
WoW!!!
Does not show correctly is an understatement. I do not trade the yen so had never looked at it thank you for bringing it to my attention. I am also pleased to see that you are using it. Wen you get a custom to looking at this indicator I find it hard to not have it up and running. I am reposting the indicator with a yen filter. You will have to manually put a 1 in properties whenever you are plotting the indicator on the yen. It should then calculate correctly.

Thanks Claude, works fine.
Pleases to me the Buffy's system and with the pleasure I test this on fx.

Hi Claude:

I am new to this Forum and have been using VT trader for several weeks on the Forex markets. Formerly a Tradestion user for many years, also Meta stock etc. You have done some nice work here with the indicators. I have used the B line on TS and would like to download it for VT but I do not have a visible link on your forum, I guess I need to be permissioned. Can you help me with that? Also, I need to have an indicator custom built and would like to know if you would be interested in doing this for compensation? It's a 3 period MA cross over on a 1 min EUR/US with a sound alert. The sound alert is the main thing . I miss so many trades. Let me know. Maybe we can talk on the phone. I live in Boston and work at home. Thanks.

Hello,

jcincot: Scroll your browser window all the way over the right side so you can view the far right edge of this forum topic... due to a graphic that was posted, the forum has expanded and you may not be able to see the "download" link for the indicator in Claude's post above.

.vtscr files are imported into VTtrader using the Indicator Builder once they have been downloaded to your PC. Do not try to open the files, just import them. You can them add them to a chart like any other indicator.

.vttrs files are trading system files and should be imported using the Trading System Builder. Same thing as indicators... don't open them, just import them and then add them to a chart.

If you need a trading system build you should really begin to study to included trading systems in VTtrader as well as the available help documentation that can be accessed using the Navigator Window>Help>Help menu option. There is a section in the manual regarding indicator building and trading system building that should prove very useful. Also, you'll want to read through the VTSpot Language Reference Manual - this manual outlines all of the functions available for use within the VTtrader programming language.

Lastly, if you need help with a trading system you are working on you can post your question in the 'Trading Systems Programming Questions' forum (http://forum.vtsystems.com/viewforum.php?f=10).

Or - if you would rather post a request for any member to code your trading system for free, you can post the request in the 'Trading Systems Requests' forum (http://forum.vtsystems.com/viewforum.php?f=11). Just be sure you include all relavent rules for the trading system, settings, and a screenshot or two if necessary to make things more clear.

Thank you and welcome to the boards.

Chris

Hello jcincot
First thank you for the kind words. Second I do this for the fun of it and to pass the time as you know trading can be boring at times so no compensation is necessary. I to am a metastock and trade station user. If the coding you use is not something you mind sharing you can post it where cskidmore has suggested so it can be translated. If you would rather keep it secretive for now that too is completely understandable. In that case contacting cskidmore and asking him for help without posting it on the board I believe this is something he has done before. Also there is another forum "unofficial" that specializes in VT if you do a search as I am not allowed to post addresses you will probably find this forum. There private messages are allowed just look me up. As a new user you may find this information helpful.

Claude, Very nice indicator..

Just a few questions,

1: Could you tell me, Buffy has a continuation pattern which is when the B-Line is out of sight, (Different Charting platform) what would be the same "Out of Sight Value?" I have attached a pic of hers when the BLINE is out of sight which means you can hold your position. So what Value would be out of sight using your indicator?

2: Would it be possible for you to program an indicator with the "Ribbons" ? Which is a group of Stochastic indicators ? The color change for cross would be fine.. I also attached a screenshot of what I am referring too.. I would want it for a new frame.. With a BLINE on it would be great too...

3: Could you explain from on your indicator, What is the solid red/green Horzontal line that appears? Which does indicator what? Green Shot = valid sling shot? etc..

I really appreciate your time and help.. Great indicator

Thanks
Matt

After all this time the B-Line is still working perfectly smile.gif Congrats for such a independent and stable indicator. Many need adjustments in time with the market but I see this one is almost flawless.

Hello
I test this indicator in VT and is amazing, works really well, I wonder if it is possible to run it in Metastock

Hello,

No, not it's not. You'll need to create one specifically for MetaStock using that software.
