Here is the MA Slope that uses the up down moves of a Moving average to trade.
Window #1 shows the slope of the chart MA line.
Window #2 shows the profit.

It is currently doing good on 10 min charts.

Hi Richnx77,

I've made some modification to your system.
It is running since 18.04.06 - 6:40. It made very nice progress.
Check it on Life Acc 5000bars.

Hi Richnx77

I'm a fan of your work and appreciate you sharing your ideas. This MASlope matches my trading style quite well on an hourly chart with different parameter settings of course. The limitation of VT is however that it trades on the close of the bar where moves can be large on the 1hr bars. So in order to make it more sensitive I moved to a shorter timeframe with an 80MA on the 15 min instead of a 20MA on the 1 hour.

The problem I have is that the slope changes of an 80MA are gradual and your TS sometimes misses the change unless the slope change is relatively sharp.

Is there any possibility to develop a TS like yours, but where the TS will simply sell when the MA of the current bar is < the MA value of the previous bar and vice versa? This would remove the need for a 'slope' and simply trade when the MA is higher or lower than the previous bar. Yes it may create some incorect trades but in my trading I have used this approach and it tends to work as losses are smallcompared to the huge gain when in a trend. Attached is a sample of what I mean.

Any assistance will be great! Thank you!!

Hi

Never mind about my previous request. I've played with the settings of the original MASlope and found that some sensitivity can be gained by changing the MA Slope Periods.

Thanks anyway. Keep up the great work.

I made a TS that uses your request, and the results aren't good. There are many bad trades and whipsaws. Using the slope periods it will take data from previous bars to average out the trading. That will prevent many bad trades but will also add delay. Close of bar trading also adds delay and is worse on 1 hour charts.

I would like to know the input parameters MA and MASlope should be SAME value ?
and why the range of MASlope < 120 ?

Thanks
