These release notes provide information on the latest modifications, improvements and new features that were made for this release of VT’s industry leading online trading software, VTtrader 1.0
Improvements
Branding
Product name change: VTspot Trading Desk has been renamed as VTtrader. The name change is being gradually incorporated into the product and while the software title has changed you may still encounter some references to VTspot in the manual. Over the next few releases, the name change will be completed throughout all software and documentation.
Installer/Updater
Automatic update interruption issue resolved: The problem with automatic update interruption experienced by some users connected to the internet over dial-up was resolved. Time-out will now be activated after no response was received from the download server for 10 minutes, as opposed to 10 minutes from the start of the download, which was the case previously.
Multilingual support
Japanese translation updated: The Japanese localization of the client has been updated and improved. To use this localization select "Japanese (JPN)" from the language menu during Login.
Trading Systems/Indicators
Trading Systems and Indicators corrected and updated: Some inconsistencies in the Trading System and indicator code were corrected. Algorithms for some of the older Trading Systems and Indicators were brought up to date.
Charting
Autoscroll default customization added: Autoscroll default settings can now be customized. To turn autoscroll feature on/off go to "Options > Properties > General > General properties > Autoscroll by default"
Double trend line issue resolved: When "extend end" and "extend begin" are selected by default in the trend line options, an additional trend line no longer appears on the screen during the drawing process.
New Features
Security
Security improved: Additional features were implemented to harden the security of VTtrader.
Installer/Updater
New installer: VTtrader now uses a new installer which is much faster and easier to use than the old one. The languages supported by VTtrader can now be selected at installation.
Charting
"Delete all" feature added to chart objects: It is now possible to delete all objects of the same type (i.e. all trend lines) by right clicking on the object and selecting "Delete all" option.
"Undo Zoom" feature added: It is now possible to return to previous chart scale by selecting the "Undo Zoom" option form the chart menu. To pull up the chart menu simply right click on the chart.
"Fibonacci arcs" tool added: This tool is used to draw circular arcs that are probable values of support and resistance based on an underlying trendline. You can select this tool from the "VT Navigator" window or from the "Select tool" menu on the chart. You can adjust tool properties by right-clicking on the object and selecting "Properties".
