For those of you interested, VT Trader 1.8.5.1 Alpha-FIX3 is now ready for testing. Please remember, this is BETA software so use at your own risk. It is advisable to rename your existing VT Trader Start Menu program group and VT Desktop icon before installing this BETA into a DIFFERENT directory than your current VT Trader installation.

Change Log (includes changes from 1.8.5.1 alpha1 also):

Resolved Bugs:

* excessive (100%) CPU usage
* some users have no sound in VT Trader
* horizontal line properties not adjusting line to new rate
* trendline/equidistant channel/angled fib/fib fan drawing issue in indicator frame
* Fib horizontal/vertical tools lines and labels not saved upon chart switch or exit/login
* font attribute in trading windows ignores font color property
* trading system labels don't hold new variable values after redraw
* 1-Click Order (1CO) feature ignores Enable Hedge by Default option setting
* Incorrect trading signals from trading system appearing on chart
* Excel DDE file returns 0.000 for all currency rates (NOTE! Do NOT open the DDE file if VT Trader is already open; Close VT Trader first

and then open the Excel DDE file -> This is a known bug)
* Wrong text in conditional stoploss "Change" dialog window
* Double left mouse button click does not display "change" dialog window for stop or limit in Consolidated mode
* Consolidated Mode: Double clicking left mouse button on stop/limit line brings up horizontal line dialog window instead of appropriate

"Change Price?" window
* Incorrect Settings Import From Older version using Import Environment or Import Settings from XML
* Keep selection in trading window when trading window is updated

Improvements:

* memory leaks fixed + memory usage optimization
* CPU utilization sometimes reduced when mouse moves over chart
* Gann Line, Grid, Fan tools now draw in indicator frames
* Charting Unavailable dialog window displayed when logging into VT Trader has been removed; It was redundant and unncessary.

Issues We Still Cannot Reproduce:

* Parabolic SAR Function Doesn't work Properly in "Realtime"
* Desktop templates vanish from VT Trader menu and Desktops subdirectory
* Custom indicators not saving to desktop templates
* Price line updates, but chart candles do not; Charts just stop updating
* Horizontal Fib lines do not save beginning/ending points when exiting/logging in to VT Trader

I still have the problem that VT will not start as mentioned in an other (closed) thread:



I have this weird problem since my starting with VT (1.8.3) up to the actual 1.8.5.1.a3, i have xp home sp2, pentiumM, 1GB.
If i restart the computer, VT will load and works fine, but if it loses server connection, i have to restart VT. This won´t work, until i restart the pc. i use zonealarm.
In the DetailedLogs folder i found a file with this:
"[UNKNOWN] Access violation at address 00404916 in module 'vtappstart.exe'. Read of address F54B7803"

This version responded that "can not execute VTTRADER.EXE, this program or it's component lost or damaged", when I run the DDE.xls file. So, I could not get any currency rates for updating data.....

If any further suggestion could resolve the above question will appreciate.

Unfortunately, it appears there is something funky going on with the DDE. You may try opening VT Trader first and then opening the DDE provided VT Trader is installed in the default directory -- if you changed the default directory do NOT do this -- it won't work!

I've already reported the strange issues I experienced while trying to open the DDE on my PC. I'm waiting to hear back from the developers.

This sounds like something is blocking VT Trader from connecting. Perhaps ZoneAlarm is blocking one of VT's files or you have another software conflict with VT Trader. I'd first try disabling ZoneAlarm temporarily and testing to see if VT works correctly to reconnect with ZoneAlarm disabled -- if it does, you'll need to check your ZoneAlarm settings to ensure VT has the proper access rights.

Hi Chris, downloaded the latest fix, the TS signals seem fine thus far. The only problem I'm getting now is a seperation between real body and CRL. It happens rarely - I have 12 charts open and it's only happened to the one daily chart I'm displaying. It sorts itself with a quick refresh - so no biggy - but thought I would mention it.

I shut down zonealarm, same problem, VT does not start (only the first time after reboot)
I will do some more testing this weekend...

Since 1.8.5.1 build 2007032300 has been released. I'm closing out this topic.
