Would it be possible to clone a symbol, a trend line, a vertical or horizontal line or any object built with the symbol menu, so that the copy or cloned object would have the exact same characteristics than the original one (same color, same line thickness, same line type, etc...)? It is quite time consuming to go over the symbol charateristics menu each and every time to just repeat a trend or vertical or any other line of the same color and type as another one already on the chart.

Hello,
You can adjust the properties of each of those horizontal/vertical lines, trendlines, fibonacci tools, etc. by bringing up the properties box by right-clicking on any tool you have visible on the chart and selecting "properties". Adjust the properties you want to change, then press "Set as default". The next time you add that tool to the chart, it will display with the new default settings. Be sure to "export your settings to xml" if you've made several changes to these tools because you'll need to import those settings back in again after a new upgrade, for example.

Chris

Thanks for your answer. I may have not been clear enough though. My point is: if I am using several types of vertical lines for instance, a group of red thin lines and a group of blue thick lines etc, when I want to add a new blue thick line, can I clone an existing one to have directly a new blue thick line? While if I want to add a new red thin line, can I still clone it too from an existing red thin line? It seems that if I attribute default characteristics to my blue thick line, any further vertical line will be that way, whether I want a red thin line afterwrds or not... I would like to avoid going through the whole properties box each time I create a new line, which I want to have the same characteristics as several existing ones. I hope it is clearer.

Hello,
Yes, that was clearer; thank you. I'll pass the suggestion along.

Chris
