Indicator
MESA Adaptive Moving Average
........................
Works only in new version VT Trader
........................
The indicators introduced in the article "High Tech Mesa Adaptive Moving Averages", by John Ehlers.
The MESA Adaptive Moving Average (MAMA) adapts to price movement based on the rate of change of phase as measured by the Hilbert Transform Discriminator. (Stocks and Commodities, Dec. 2000, p. 19).This method features a fast attack average and a slow decay average so that composite average rapidly ratchets behind price changes and holds the average value until the next ratchet occurs. The complex calculations of the MAMA can be seen above. For a more detailed description of MAMA, see "Mesa Adaptive Moving Average", Stocks and Commodities Magazine, August 2001.

i'm only seeing one line; both mapped to the same line. Is there some other setting that needs to be adjusted?

Yeah I get the same result, only only average-FAMA, the MAMA line does not show.

Hello,
The MESA and FAMA moving averages are included with VTtrader 1.6. You can find them in the indicator list under the Indicator Builder option in the Tools menu of the Navigator Window under the name of MESA Adaptive Moving Average (both functions are included).
Regards,
Chris
